Some newly processed pictures

It's a chilly Saturday afternoon and I have just processed a bunch of old pictures. I love the look of these, enjoy.

How to keep a dog busy for an hour.

Our dog srsly loves peanut butter, it is quite the show to watch him take on an empty pb jar.

Love the wide angle lens

I love playing with my Sigma 10-20mm wide angle lens, it makes for the most dramatic landscape pictures, and also for some hilarious kiddie pictures.

3rd prize winner

Last month I submitted a picture into a "Summer Fun" contest that a nation-wide camera store was hosting. I was informed on Friday that this picture won 3rd place! I won a gift certificate to the store and they are also blowing it up and framing in to display in the store local to me in the city and it will also be used in future publications for the chain. I'm thrilled!

Baby Conch

I was reminiscing the other day about our trip to Turks and Caicos Islands (see pictures below). I keep this baby conch on my desk so that I am reminded of that gorgeous place often.

My models

They hate when I make them model for me.

Pelicans, bikes and go carts

Last week we went camping to a couple places, Eagle Lake in Strathmore and Dinosaur Trail in Drumheller. Except for the wicked witch at Dinosaur Trail that called the RCMP on our "rowdy" group, we had a blast!

These first pictures are at Eagle Lake. Each evening we were treated to the sights of Pelicans!

This guy was sitting in the water all by himself for a while.

All of a sudden, 4 more pelicans came swooping in.

We ended up calling them "the one poor guy and the 4 bitches" because the 4 that came in ignored that poor lonely guy for over an hour before they allowed him to fish with them. He just paddled along behind them the whole time.

On to Drumheller. We took the kids to the go carts one afternoon. Looks like they had fun:

While we were there our 5 year old finally agreed to let us take his training wheels off. He had been fighting us on this for months but he saw so many kids there taking theirs off for the first time, we finally convinced him he should too. One push was all it took.

Clifford E. Lee Nature Sanctuary

A few weeks ago I took the kids to the Clifford E. Lee Nature Sanctuary for a little photo excursion. It protects over 348 acres of marshland, meadow and pine forest. It is home to over 100 species of birds and many other animals.
We saw about 3 birds while we were there, no other animals! So we took pictures of the plant life instead. Both of my kids are little photo hounds, especially the older one. I gave him my little Sony P&S and he gave his little brother his old Fuji Finepix. So now the whole family is a bunch of photographers!

Here are some of my favourites.
